When doing this speech one thing I thought was a success was that we both had flash cards. They helped my partner and I when we lost where we were at or just needed a quick reminder. Another success was having all 400 words.
There are some things I need to improve for next time. One thing I need to improve on is memorizing my paper. I think another thing I could do is highlight the important words and phrases on the note cards.
After doing this there Is some advice I have. One tip would be to make sure that you have all your note cards in order and have important sentences highlighted. Another tip would be to make sure you have practiced with your partner.
Through this activity I learned that preparation with your partner really helps. I also learned that making good note cards also make the speech easier.
One of the successes of this speech was that I found a topic to talk about. It was hard to come up with a topic at first, but once I found one that I was ok with I decided that will be the one. Something I am going to work on before my next speech is not getting so nervous when I speak in front of a group of people. I was doing well at the beginning but as time went on I got more and more nervous, so nervous I started to shake and stutter. My advise would to be make sure that you know your speech well enough so that you can still make some eye contact with the audience, even if it's not for the whole time that you are speaking and presenting. I learned a lot from and about my classmates during this speech/project. People are so much more than the classroom, they have so much history even before starting school. It is not even always them it could have happened to there parents, grandparents, siblings, or friends. It's crazy what some people had to go through and what life is like for them so far growing up.
I found that I got to know everyone way better than I ever would have if we had not done it and just got into the other units like every other class. I found that even though you might think you know someone there will always be part of them that you will never know, see, or understand. When I give my speech I need to not hold my breath as much and before I give correct my paper better. Advice I would give my classmates would be try really hard to not say um or like do many times. By doing this speak I learned the everyone has gone through something that has changed them. From losing someone they love or going on a mission trip and seeing how good we really have it in the United States. Seeing the kids faces as and what they have yet how happy they are. Experiences changing them for better or for worse.
I was really nervous to give my speech in front of the class. As I started talking I realized that it's really not that bad. People get to learn more about you and your life and you also get to hear other people's stories which helps you get to know them better. If I could improve my speech I think it would be in the overall performance. I think I was tapping my foot and swaying back and forth when I was giving my speech. My advice for others is to not fiddle around when you give your speech and try not to be nervous you have nothing to worry about. I learned that everyone has the own story and their own adventure and it's in your best knowledge to accept or respect others who went through some pretty hard times.
I have bad stage fright so i didnt look up as much as i thought i would and also when i went up to the front of the classroom i didnt like speaking because i only knew a few people but once i got talking it wasnt that bad it was sort of easy im glad its overwith i liked that i got to know a lot of new people if i could improve my speech i would improve my eye contact and overall preformance in te front i wouldve had better posture and overall i learned that people have a side that we dont know it was a powerful expiriece to know everyone better
In Elementary school I had a tough time making friends. I was always so shy. I had a group of friends at one point but then when it came around to 5th grade we weren't so close anymore. I remember walking around in the playground by myself and swinging on the swings all alone. Since I was so shy, words have been a negative element in my life. I didn't talk very much and that's why I didn't have any friends.
My faith has gotten stronger! I first got baptized when I was eleven. It was a great eye-opening experience. Eleven was the age when I really felt like I was getting more involved in my church. Religion is a big part of my life. I have been working a lot harder this year with academics and swimming! My faith has helped me balance friends, family, school, and sports. Lately, I have been looking forward to attending church now because i really like it's worship group. I feel like I'm getting more involved in activities which helps me meet new people and make new friends.
I'm not quite 16 yet but on my next birthday I will be able to drive and that means curfew and other limitations. Driving means that my parents might be a little more over-protective. When I turn 18 that means that I will be an adult and I will be able to make my owns decisions. There will no curfew, no restrictions or limitations.
I can connect to your statement about not having very many friends in elementary school. I had just gone to Roosevelt a few weeks into the year and I didn't know anyone until I finally put myself out there and made friends. I also like your statement about baptism. I have not yet been baptized bc I still don't know when the right time is or will be even though I really want to. I just don't think it is the right time for me yet.
Some ways people may respond is negative or sometimes caring depending on who the person is or how you're acting. If a person acts or looks depressed then someone caring will come and try to comfort them any way they can. If someone acts or looks mad or angry then someone will try to bully the person who is angry bc they might think they are just being bullies or a jerk. The negative person does this bc he doesn't know what is going on with the angry person or doesn't ask them if there is a problem. It is usually assumed by people that someone who is angry is just mean and doesn't realize there is a problem with that person. If someone were to ask the person who is angry then maybe the angry person would share the problem that they have and won't be as angry bc now someone else knows what he/she is going through and they won't have to go through it alone. Although in some cases the negative person may push away the person concerned with there problem which may be a bad decision on the negative persons part. But sometimes it is best for the negative person to deal with it on there own.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
